Twenty-three year old Aella Clarke suffers from sleep paralysis. Her daily struggles of wanting to be a normal adult, alongside coping with her condition, are short-lived when a being from another realm visits her during one of her episodes. Soon after, she learns that this burden she has been carrying most of her life is, in fact, a gift with the ability to open portals into other realms.The battle has just begun with both internal and external forces, however. The pressure to hone in on suppressing such a gift, preventing another war between the realms, and choosing to love herself above all is just the tip of the iceberg.
