Synopsis

1843 was filled with hardship for many living in the deep south. Lizzy gave birth to a child out of wedlock and swore her baby would never suffer the same fate. With the help of her sister she left the child on the steps of a church that was attended by the wealthiest residents in Charleston, S.C. Seventeen years later the child had blossomed into a beautiful young lady and had been showered with the finest money would allow. She had the world and all it's treasures at her beck and call. That is until fate stepped in and cast her into an unfamiliar world of destitute. Suddenly she had to face life alone and without anything or anyone. The perils were great but she learn to cope and rise above the hardships before her. Her strength grew with each challenge. Rachel refused to be defeated. She would rise above it and become stronger in life as well as in person.
