Synopsis

𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝑫𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒉𝒆’𝒔 𝒘𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒊𝒎𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇? Without warning, Dan Bryant returns to the vacation island of his boyhood to attend his estranged brother, Jack’s, wedding. His arrival is a surprise to the newlyweds, but Dan is the one most shocked when a young man, who looks exactly like Mason—Dan and Jack’s deceased brother—is in attendance. Before he can find answers, a cigarette break is in order, and he heads to a shady area to hide his weakness. After lighting up, Dan, a veterinarian recovering from a devastating forest fire, discovers a German Shepard dog locked inside a hot car. A man can only take so much, and he loses it, seeing the dog in danger. Clara Bishop is used to aggressive men, but that’s only part of why she keeps her dog, Kristof, close by. When Dan comes charging into the kitchen, threatening her with the police, she backs down and hands over the cake decorations to her assistant. She’s kept Kristof safe this long, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult now that her ex-boyfriend Gary has shown up looking for the dog. Dan has no choice but to come to the aid of this damsel in distress, particularly where he ruined her creative wedding cake and, potentially, the wedding day. His rapid-fire plan sounds good to everyone except him—for how can he save Clara when he’s wrecked himself? Welcome back to Bristlemouth Bay! A place where the Bryant brothers endeavor to forgive the past, hope for the future, and maybe, find love in the present.
